Today, right now, is a brand new day. I can look back on my past and smile even at the roughest times, because they made me what I am today. Those times that were so tough, were actually the best times, those were the lessons. Everything that has happened had to happen, or else I wouldn’t be who I am today. And I love me.
In truth, there is no such thing as the past.”What? No such thing as the past?” you ask. So I ask you to remember your high school graduation, and reflect a minute. Now either you are smiling or you aren’t, but that smile or that frown is with you now. We have negative or positive associations with every moment of our past, and when we remember a past moment, we get either a negative or a positive feeling. …But all that stuff is with us all the time, even when we aren’t conscious of it. You probably don’t think about your high school graduation all that often, but the feelings that you ave attached to it are always with you. This is why I say that your past is always with you. It is what makes up “you” right now.
This is what many people have called the “sub-conscious” mind. The un-seen, the invisible stuff that is below the surface. We have feelings or associations connected to every single thing that has ever happened in our lives, and these are always with us. This is why it is so very important to heal wounds, to get okay with our past. If something bad happened to you when you were a child, you may not hardly ever think about it, but everything that has happened, is with you. We have to go back and make sense of things, and find a way to have positive associations instead of negative associations. Because, even though we may not be aware of it, all of this is present in our life right now.
In regards to this “sub-conscious mind” that we have heard so much about, it really isn’t invisible. The same doctors and psychiatrists who tell us about this giant invisible mind that we are unaware of will tell you that your world is a reflection of what is inside of you. If you want to see inside your mind, just open your eyes and look around you.
